Activities of political conflict-oriented camps are causing unrest in educational institutions: Protest
Terrorists from the Shibir camp entered the Latif Hall room of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute with country-made weapons and attacked Chhatra Dal and general students. Terrorists from the Shibir camp entered the room and carried out an ambush attack on Chhatra Dal and general students. After entering the room, a Chhatra Dal worker was hacked with a ramda and seriously injured. Many students were also injured.
We strongly condemn and protest this heinous terrorist attack. Such violence in educational institutions is unacceptable. We strongly demand the immediate arrest of the attackers and exemplary punishment.
Unfortunately, some media outlets in the country are trying to portray this incident as a “clash between students and ordinary students.” The question is—if it was a clash between ordinary students, how did Shibir members get injured in the attack? It is not the media’s responsibility to hide the real incident and give misleading accounts. We call for accurate and impartial reporting.
Meanwhile, Mehedi Sajeeb's debut as the publicity and media editor of Rajshahi University branch Chhatra Shibir today proves that many have been doing politics from behind the scenes. Such secret activities and conflict-oriented politics are destabilizing the country's educational environment.
We want to say it clearly again - let's avoid the path of camp conflict, terrorism, and secret politics and return to openly positive, peaceful, and democratic political practices.
Let the politics of turning academics into bloodshed stop. Let the campuses be safe, terror-free and education-friendly.
