Salahuddin Ahmed

Salahuddin Ahmed was born on June 30, 1962, in a respectable Maulvi family in the traditional village of Sikder Para in Pekua Union of the then Greater Chakaria Upazila of Cox's Bazar district. While studying at Dhaka University, he successfully held various important positions, including the Vice-President of the Central Executive Committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal. He also served as the Acting President of the Central Committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal for a few days. While in charge of the Chhatra Dal, he was arrested and imprisoned many times due to the wrath of the autocratic government. He participated in the 7th BCS examination, known as the most glorious and basic cadre of government service in Bangladesh, and passed the BCS (Administration) cadre in 1985. He joined the BCS (Administration) service on February 15, 1988. While serving as a Senior Assistant Secretary in the Bogra District Administration, he joined the then Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in 1991 as the Assistant Private Secretary (APS). He resigned from this government job in January 1996. Salahuddin Ahmed has been actively involved in politics since then.
