Chhatra Dal believes in the protection of journalists and the freedom of the media.

An untoward incident took place at Shahbagh Police Station adjacent to Dhaka University campus yesterday over an ugly Facebook post. We have learned that several members of the Dhaka University Journalists Association were injured while gathering news during a tense situation between a mob created by leaders and activists of the overt and covert Shibir and aggrieved leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal.

I sincerely apologize on behalf of the Nationalist Chhatra Dal. The Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal believes in the protection of journalists and the freedom of the media. The role of the Journalists' Association in the movement against fascism was outstanding.

We hope that in the future, no more journalists will be subjected to harassment while performing their professional duties.
