Hatya incident: Our clear position
After reviewing all available evidence, video statements, medical records, and detailed local-level verification, the Hatya incident thus far appears to many to be a politically motivated and planned narrative.
However, the matter is very sensitive. Therefore, we do not consider it appropriate to make final comments from the responsible quarters before the final investigation is completed. We want the law to run its course, there to be an impartial investigation, and the truth to be clearly revealed.
But if the investigation proves that a false drama has been staged to fulfill political vendetta, then responsibility for it cannot be avoided in any way. Mob culture, propaganda and character assassination politics must be stopped forever in Bangladesh.
Attempting to tarnish a political party, candidate, or individual through false accusations is not just a political crime—it is tantamount to deceiving the nation.
If such a tactic is proven, all parties involved—the Shibir, the Razakar circle, pro-Jamaat groups, and the NCP—will have to publicly apologize to the nation.
In addition, legal action will be taken against those involved in attempts to create unrest and chaos in the public mind and for defaming the reputation of BNP - no concessions will be made in this regard.
There is no room to ignore the serious questions that have arisen, especially regarding the role of NCP leader Hannan Masud. He must be held accountable—this is the demand of justice and public opinion.
We want to say clearly - politics should be a competition of ideals, principles, and public welfare; not through false drama, mob incitement, and character assassination.
The truth will be established—this is our unwavering belief.
